Camphor Thyme (Thymus camphoratus)
A strongly aromatic thyme with a bold camphor‑herbal scent — perfect for teas, savoury dishes, and fragrant, drought‑tolerant gardens

🌿 Camphor Thyme is a wonderfully aromatic, low‑growing thyme with small grey‑green leaves and a powerful camphor‑herbal scent. Native to coastal Portugal, it thrives in hot, dry, sunny conditions and forms small compact neat 'shrubs' of foliage topped with soft pink flowers in summer.
The aroma is striking — a blend of camphor, pine resin, warm herbs, and classic thyme — making it ideal for teas, savoury dishes, and any recipe that benefits from a deeper, more resinous thyme note. In the garden, it’s tough, drought‑tolerant, and adored by bees.
A beautiful choice for rockeries, gravel gardens, containers, and sunny borders.
