Perpetual Spinach (Beta vulgaris)
A reliable, long‑lasting leafy green with tender stems and a mild, spinach‑like flavour

🌿 Perpetual spinach is a vigorous, easy‑to‑grow leafy green that produces tender leaves over a long season. Despite its name, it’s actually a type of chard, but with a softer texture and a flavour much closer to true spinach. It thrives where normal spinach often struggles, coping far better with heat, variable weather, and less‑than‑perfect soil. It grows quickly, thrives in most conditions, and keeps producing fresh leaves from spring right through to autumn — often overwintering and growing again in the spring. Its bright green foliage and upright habit make it a productive and attractive addition to vegetable beds and kitchen gardens.

Perpetual spinach offers a mild, clean, spinach‑like flavour that works beautifully in everyday cooking.

•     Excellent in stir‑fries, sautés, and quick greens

•     Lovely in omelettes, quiches, and pasta dishes

•     Ideal for soups, curries, and stews, holding its shape well

•     Young leaves are perfect for salads and raw dishes

•     Can be used anywhere you’d use spinach, but with better texture and far longer cropping

Flavour profile: mild, clean, spinach‑like, slightly sweet
