Catmint (Nepeta cataria)
A softly aromatic perennial with grey‑green leaves, pale flowers, and irresistible appeal to cats 🌿🐾

🌿 Catmint (Nepeta cataria) is a hardy perennial herb with soft grey‑green foliage, a loose upright habit, and delicate clusters of white to pale lilac flowers. Thriving in sunny, well‑drained soils, it brings a gentle, herbal presence to wildlife‑friendly gardens and herb beds.
Famous for its effect on cats, catnip contains the aromatic compound nepetalactone, which triggers playful, euphoric, or relaxed behaviour in many felines. At the same time, its flowers are highly attractive to bees and other beneficial insects, making it a valuable dual‑purpose herb.
